Rev. Karl Grant
The promise of Christians' future glory can sometimes seem like pie-in-the-sky, especially when you're in the middle of grief or suffering. But in truth, this hope flips how we handle grief, suffering, and even time itself. In this Trinity 4 sermon on Romans 8:18–23, discover how future redemption lets us endure pain with hope, live eternally focused, and comfort one another amid isolation.
Takeaways:
Glory's certainty reshapes daily life like pre-vacation cleanup—we endure real sufferings without denial, knowing they pale against what's coming.
Creation groans alongside us, awaiting bodies redeemed from decay; no more thorns, wear-out, or death in the new heaven and earth.
Time flies subjectively, but eternity makes 100 years a blink. Use money, pursuits, and relationships with forever in mind.
Suffering isolates, but the Holy Spirit's foretaste empowers us to share comfort: "This isn't right, but Jesus will make it right, so hang on!
